Sefton Supported Living
We support people with learning disabilities to live how they choose in our supported living service. Five people live as tenants in a bungalow which is situated in the coastal town of Southport. The bungalow is modern and beautifully decorated with a very pretty, good sized enclosed garden.
Supported independent living is about people who have a disability, having the same level of choice, control and freedom in their daily lives as any other person. People who live in supported living need guidance and care to achieve daily living skills and fulfil their aspirations. It does not mean that someone has things done for them or that they live alone. Instead, it means that people have choice and control over the assistance and/or equipment they need to go about their daily life, and that people have equal access to transport, health, education and training opportunities.
Sefton Supported Living will support you with whatever type of leisure activity you want to get involved in within your community - we can make it happen. We work in partnership with local community groups, organise activities ourselves or support people with learning disabilities and their families to arrange their own. We have been supporting people for years, so we know what quality support looks like.
The people who use our services are encouraged to be involved and to play an active role in everything we do. This includes decisions on how their services are run and takes place in a variety of ways, including:
Your person centred plan
Your meal planning
How the home is decorated and what furnishings are chosen
The Quality Assurance process
Tenants meetings
The recruitment of staff
